Speech Language Pathologist

The Speech Therapist is responsible for provisions of direct patient services, including diagnosis, consultation, assessment, and treatment. The incumbent is also responsible for participation in departmental/community programs and hospital wide programs associated with the professional services. The Speech Therapist complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment. The incumbent is responsible for delivery of care consistent with the vision and values of the hospital and the standards of relevant professional organizations.

Mental Health Social Worker I

The Mental Health Social Worker I position involves completing the intake process for children and youth who are experiencing emotional/behavioural/social difficulties and their families. Through active liaising with parents (and/or collaterals) and community services, the Mental Health Social Worker I works with a multidisciplinary team to complete the initial intake screening to determine service needs. In addition, the Mental Health Social Worker I will provide professional and confidential services through the Urgent Response Service in a comprehensive, flexible, and timely manner, including: screening and intake of children/ youth with Autism who request the service; providing service navigation for all children/ youth referred; and leading the development, monitoring and evaluation of the Urgent Reponses Service Plan for those who meet the criteria for the service. The Mental Health Social Worker I will use a family centered approach with a focus on each individual’s strengths. Co-facilitation of treatment groups for children/youth may be requested.

Reporting to the Manager, the Mental Health Social Worker II will carry out their responsibilities as a member of a multi-disciplinary team offering clinical treatment to children/youth who are experiencing emotional/behavioral/social challenges and their families. This position involves working closely with the school boards, Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society, and other relevant community service providers. The Mental Health Social Worker II provides direct clinical services in the areas of individual, group, and family treatment, within the Outpatient Counselling and Therapy department or the Intensive Treatment Services program. The Mental Health Social Worker II is responsible for developing a family-focused treatment plan, providing service coordination, and consulting with school personnel and community providers as needed. The Mental Health Social Worker II is responsible for delivery of care consistent with the vision and values of the hospital and the standards of relevant professional organizations. They comply with the Occupational Health and Safety standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.

Clinical Practice Manager (Interim)

Reporting directly to the Director of Bed-based Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Clinical Practice Manager is responsible for the advancement of mental health and addictions knowledge and professional practice to ensure evidence-based, individualized care of patients and families from the multidisciplinary team. The CPM is responsible for directing and developing clinical practice within the program across the patient care spectrum. The CPM is responsible for the management of the multidisciplinary team competency within the program. The Clinical Practice Manager is responsible to support, promote, and lead through example, the adoption of the organization’s mission, vision and value. The Clinical Practice Manager supports the orientation of newly hired staff to the program. The Clinical Practice Manager assists in the development of a comprehensive education strategy for the multidisciplinary team that aligns with the program and organizational strategic priorities. The Clinical Practice Manager assists in developing and refining relevant policy and procedures that govern practice within the program. The Clinical Practice Manager liaises with the Director of Professional Practice and Clinical Support Services as required to support clinical practice related goals that apply to HDGH.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Registered Nurse utilizes a client-centered, recovery-oriented, mental health service delivery model. Using the principles of client-centered care within the context of an interdisciplinary team approach, the Registered Nurse will provide service to those with mental health and addiction disorders. The Registered Nurse collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, program psychiatrist, physicians, educational resources and other health care professionals. The Registered Nurse complies with the Occupational Health and Safety standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.
