Job Description
The Child and Youth Worker I, under the supervision of the Operations Manager – RCC Intensive Treatment Services, and in consultation with the treatment team, is involved in the delivery of the Child and Youth Worker portion of the treatment plan. The incumbent is responsible for the delivery of care that is consistent with the vision and values of Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare and the standards of relevant professional organizations. The Child &Youth Worker I complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the Hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.Qualifications
Demonstrated interpersonal skills with community agency representative, other professionals, children and their families
Ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team
Strong judgment and reasoning skills, along with well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Willingness and ability to respond to parents and the community in and expeditious, courteous, helpful manner
Thorough understanding of confidentiality when dealing with children/youth and families
French Language proficiency is an asset
Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License with the use of a car and insurance in accordance with Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare policy
Education and/or Certification
Must possess a diploma as a Child and Youth Worker from a Canadian Community College or University which offers a recognized Child and Youth Worker training - RequiredApplication Form
